At sea in the 17th Century Caribbean is an intense battleground between Spain, England, France and Netherlands for control over colonies; you as a young sea captain aim to become as powerful as possible by choosing one of two available campaigns - Adventurer or Trader?
Those choosing the path of Adventurer must conduct an unforgiving campaign against sea conquest: invasion, piracy, bounty hunting or raiding as means for building their empire in the Caribbean - with trade playing an indirect part in your success story.
Contrariwise, trading is all about amassing wealth and economic power. To become one of the greatest traders of the New World, one must establish trade routes, form industries and expand colonial economies.
Free Play mode gives you complete freedom in mixing both these elements to form an original, breathtaking story!
Now in its award-winning Port Royale series, Multiplayer mode offers you not just peaceful Caribbean waters but a unique multiplayer experience as up to four people can connect via local area network (LAN) or online and compete against each other!
