Religion Features
Given the profound effect religious transformation had on these societies during this era, Empires of Sand Culture Pack features several enhancements which increase its prominence - Eastern Christianity, Judaism and Semitic Paganism are now among several new options available for play!
Desert Kingdoms non-Horde factions may follow one or both religions of Aksum or Himyar's two major faiths: Eastern Christianity or Semitic Paganism.
Religion now plays an even larger part of Desert Kingdoms campaign gameplay, impacting multiple aspects such as building chains, victory conditions, events and technologies as well as overall bonus scoring bonuses: Religion has profound effects that impact many aspects of Desert Kingdoms campaign gameplay and is deeply interwoven into features like victory conditions, technologies and overall bonuses: Religion plays a pivotal role.

Aksum and Himyar both possess dual religion building chains to enable more flexible control over their faction religions and change them reactively depending on circumstances. Players have access to building chains dedicated to each of the main religions they adhere to allowing for building regardless of faction affiliation or preference. This gives players greater power when managing or switching them at will.

Aksum and Himyar now possess two Tier-5 barracks available to them for each religion - one each. In order to access either, their faction must reach 75% influence of that religion - each building providing three unique elite units along with unlocking various campaign benefits.

Desert Kingdoms factions each possess two sets of victory conditions and achievements related to each of their main religions, comprising numerous units and structures connected with that faith.

Religion now plays an increased diplomatic significance; therefore it's wiser for players to select their religion carefully depending on who they wish to align themselves with.

Pleasure Building-Chain
Non-Horde Desert Kingdom factions now have access to an industrial building-chain which promises large sums of money but decreases religious support - forcing you to decide between financial stability and religious affiliation.

Religious technologies
Each Desert Kingdoms faction with non-horde status boasts technology chains for each of their main religions, providing multiple religious and campaign bonuses that help manage and optimize religious choices.

Increased Religious Discord Penalties
With new religions coming into your provinces comes increased religious disharmony penalties from public order officers; thus balancing benefits with risk if religions are mismanaged improperly.

Reactive Religious Events (Aksum and Himyar)
We have just added two events which activate when certain religious criteria are fulfilled, creating intricate puzzles and missions for you to tackle.
