Description

Sid Meier's Civilization V: Gods and Kings is the inaugural expansion pack to Civilization V - 2010 PC Game of the Year - that provides comprehensive gameplay from founding your Pantheon of Gods to spreading religion across time zones to dispatching spies into enemy cities in order to steal information and technology. This comprehensive expansion provides all that and more!

As you progress through history, you'll encounter new types of city-states and engage in global competitions involving these city-states; engage in city-state quests; master exciting land and naval combat systems; as well as enjoy brand new units, buildings and techs that give players even more ways to expand their empire and dominate the globe. Civilization V: Gods and Kings offers nine new civilizations, nine wonders, three original scenarios as well as over two dozen units that allow players to expand and dominate.
Key Features of Epic Game 2.0:
Expanded Epic Game: The core experience has been significantly expanded through the addition of technologies (such as Combined Arms), 27 units (1-hex ranged Machine Gunner unit), 13 buildings including Bomb Shelters and 9 Wonders. Furthermore, three Scenarios allow modders to further experiment.
New Civilizations: This expansion introduces nine new civilizations - Carthage, Netherlands, Celts and Maya to name but four - each boasting their own special traits, units and structures; furthermore nine leaders such as Prince of Orange William I (also called William of Orange and Boudicca of Spain as well as Pacal the Great have also been added.)

Religion: Righteous people will seek Faith to establish the Pantheon of the Gods, while as your Faith deepens, Great Prophets emerge who build on these basic beliefs to form your religion, which you can customize and enhance according to your preferences - be they religious tolerance of other faiths or is this religion unique in some way - such as Gold, Arts or Military focus - beliefs can even unlock custom buildings only the adherents can construct! Prophets, missionaries and inquisitors help spread it across borders while expanding alliances of City States or similar civilizations who share similar ideologies.
Increased Diplomacy and Espionage: Establish embassies at foreign courts for closer ties or clandestine operations, then as religions settle across the world and Renaissance begins, unleash a spy (with more to follow later). Send him or her out to spy on foreign cities or steal advanced technologies from your most formidable competitors or interfere with city-state alliances - but always act with care because your actions could have serious repercussions if discovered! All actions may have diplomatic repercussions if discovered - always tread cautiously when carrying out such actions!
City-States: Two new city-state types (Mercantile and Religious) have been implemented with numerous advantages to bring greater variety to the game experience. Furthermore, city-state quest system has undergone major revision to reduce gold's importance while increasing variety and making diplomatic victory easier - consider alliing with Marrakech or Vatican City and Jerusalem in particular as holy cities that play key roles in religious struggle!
World Domination: The Gods and Kings expansion has transformed the battle for global dominance into something truly dynamic, thanks to an improved combat system and AI that emphasizes creating balanced army compositions. Your lines now remain standing longer than before so that players can make smart tactical decisions without concern over random dice rolls.
Naval Combat: Your navy now features two distinct ship types - melee and ranged ships - making all coastal cities vulnerable to naval attack from unexpected turns of events. Furthermore, all embarked units now benefit from Defensive Embarkation for additional defense; when combined with Great Admirals on board ships they now become even more dangerous places!
Neuschwanstein and Djenne Great Mosque will feature all new effects as will Terracotta Army, Great Firewall and Hubble Space Telescope - four additional wonders with similar characteristics will also debut with all-new attractions and effects.
Three New Scenarios Are Now Live
Fall of Rome: Play either as Eastern Rome or Western Rome trying to defend themselves from barbarian invasion OR one of their barbarian attackers themselves!
Empires of the Smoky Skies: Create flying airships and massive tractor tanks from this Victorian science fiction scenario's diverse tech tree to expand your empire across a preindustrial world. (NB - Demo Available Only on PC.
