Four heroes hailing from four separate universes have been summoned by the mysterious government of the Metaverse for special tasks.

Long ago, an incredible cataclysm upended reality and birthed the Metaverse with its vast ship called Bastion - its mysterious captain being Boss himself! Our heroes must board this mysterious vessel to uncover all its secrets behind its creation as well as bring balance back into the Metaverse by stopping Boss himself!

Capitalizing on their space-time abilities, our heroes use death only as temporary setback as they strive to defeat this great evil. But death comes at a price; its unpredictable effects will alter even Bastion itself so no two attempts will ever be identical.

Backstory: Creation of the Metaverse

Eons ago in another time and reality, Planet Noah was home to one of the oldest and most advanced civilizations in existence - so advanced that its technology allowed its residents to communicate across space-time continuum and see into its future. Through this window they realized their planet Noah would eventually vanish in an catastrophic event far into its distant future.

As Noah had foretold, an unlikely hero emerged to save the day. By tapping into Noah's collective scientific knowledge and harnessing modern technological marvels - though at great personal cost to himself - this hero claimed they could save the Earth at whatever cost to themselves and others. Unfortunately his actions and identity remain lost to history but Noah was saved - though at what cost?

Space-time had warped out of shape and spiraled in on itself, collapsing upon itself as stars, planets and civilizations from every point in spacetime collided haphazardly into what has since come to be known as "The Metaverse." A constantly-evolving mixture of what had been, is being and will (or might!) come, the Metaverse can be both dangerous and perilous at any given moment - creating its ever-evolving landscape known as The Metaverse.

However, this so-called hero appears to have his own mysterious motivations for creating such chaos and upheavals in Metaverse. After suddenly disappearing and reappearing later on in a menacing way he quickly gained notoriety as being opposed by all factions within Metaverse.

Today: MEET OUR HEROES
Now the Metaverse is under threat once more from The Boss who threatens to tear apart all that's left of reality and spread darkness throughout. In response to his threat, we need heroes that can face down his menace - and restore balance to reality in an attempt to bring balance back into being. The united government of Metaverse has called upon new heroes in an effort to defend our world from further despair and restore equilibrium to reality.

Four heroes have answered the call. These veterans of various cosmic-scale battles have saved multiple planets through combat-oriented solutions; all bring unique styles, skills and talents in an attempt to save all existence.

WONG: THE PROGRAMMER
An exceptional hacker with both tech savvy and hand-to-hand combat skills, Wong's signature move is Matrix Shuttle; which enables him to pass through enemies while also dealing damage - using chips he can enhance his health, stamina or damage potential.

ZOE: THE BOMBER GIRL
As an accomplished demolition expert, Zoe knows all there is to know about creating explosive effects! Her specialty skill is Rocket Leap; its power allows her to avoid attacks in one swift leap while dealing damage upon both takeoff and landing. Utilizing Chips allows Zoe to increase both her bomb loadout as well as damage per bomb - plus any HP gained when defeating enemies with them!

Brooks: THE ROCK STAR
Don't be fooled - Brooks is much more than meets the eye when it comes to wielding power of rock 'n' roll itself! His special ability provides Brooks a 3-charge dodge that slowly refills over time; with Chips you can use him summon extra healing orbs when picking up Hearts of Life or exchange Stamina for HP while increasing either his max Stamina or critical damage output!

HOWARD, THE ASTROAUT
Howard has spent much of his career exploring and exploring Metaverse corners with keen observation skills and determination. Through teleportation technology and his special ability, he can generate two portal gates which serve as short term travel arteries between him and other points within Metaverse sphere. Furthermore, Chips allow Howard to summon energy orbs in different situations which increase damage while at the same time restore shield points for added defenses against hostile creatures or restore shield points on himself and allies alike.

But... What Are These Chips?

Chips are remnants from an older universe - ancient Noah technology that survived the cataclysm - with little understanding as to their exact mechanisms or uses. No one really understands how these magical objects work; all anyone knows is that each grants various powers. With energy collected by discovering new rooms, players can use Chip Machines to purchase chips for use as passive effects on weapons; customize weapons more powerful builds suited for various battles or bosses; power special talents of characters etc. Alternatively they could power other forms of currency such as special talents or characters using special talents!
