1971 Project Helios

Project Helios (1971) is a turn-based strategy game which blends modern warfare military tactics and close combat into one unique experience. Firearms and vehicles are scarce; conflicts remain ongoing; while an intensely cold weather decimates both friends and foes.

Eight characters must come together for one common cause - to rescue an influential scientist kidnapped by an oppressive stratocracy. On their journey they must avoid raider attacks, investigate military headquarters and infiltrate into territory controlled by an anti-technological religious sect whose followers fear technology.

Tactical Combat Explore three factions with individual units and strategies; soldiers can face off against soldiers; snipers aim at targets from far distance; bandits hide beneath slipperier surfaces while knights remain immune from cold; study your opponents carefully as you plan out every move and adapt for all confrontations!

Exploration Step into various locations from military enclaves to medieval dungeons as you search for Fulgor, new equipment for your characters and valuable pieces of intelligence about both yourself and those with which you come into conflict.

Skill Trees As you equip each character, unlocking and upgrading new skills becomes possible, creating the optimal build for your strategy.

Resource Management Make the most of available fulgor to unlock HP, lower cooldown times and reanimate fallen units.

Campaign action takes place in an icy world where eight individuals - each with its own problems and interests - come together temporarily in an alliance to search for one particular individual: Dr Margaret Blythe. Throughout their travels together on this quest for her whereabouts they travel shoulder-to-shoulder while becoming acquainted. By making strategic and personal choices throughout your campaign playthrough you will lead these characters towards one of three possible endings.
