1971 Project Helios

Project Helios (1971) is a turn-based strategy game which blends modern warfare military tactics with close combat. Firearms and vehicles are scarce; conflicts remain ongoing; hostilities do not cease, and the harsh winter cold annihilates both friends and foes in its path.

Eight characters must collaborate for one common cause - finding an important scientist kidnapped by a massive stratocracy. Along their journey they'll need to avoid raider attacks, investigate military headquarters and penetrate an anti-technological religious sect territory without incursion.

Tactical Combat Put your skills against three distinct factions with their own individual units, strategies, and advantages! Choose between soldiers, snipers, slippery bandits or knights immune to cold - each possess their own individual units to use against opponents! Study each enemy faction's units carefully while planning every move and adapting quickly as you face new confrontations!

Exploration Travel across a range of environments ranging from military enclaves to medieval dungeons in search of Fulgor and new equipment for your characters, along with knowledge about your surroundings and any factions encountered along your travels.

Skill Trees As you locate equipment compatible with each character, unlock and upgrade their respective skills in order to build out strategies suited for that character's strategy. Combine and combine them for perfect builds for maximum strategy success!

Resource Management Apply all available vigor to defrost HP, minimize cooldown times and revitalize fallen units.

Campaign Action takes place in an icy world where eight characters with distinct personal issues and interests join a temporary alliance to search for one individual: Dr Margaret Blythe. On their quest, they travel and fight alongside one another while becoming acquainted. Based upon strategic and individual decisions you will direct these characters toward one of three possible endings.
